- Ryan Mathews (RB, Fresno State) is selected with a 1st round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Chargers give up their 1st round (28th overall), 2nd round and 4th round picks as well as ILB Tim Dobbins for the 12th overall selection to pick Mathews and also acquire the Miami Dolphins' 4th round pick and 6th round picks.
- Donald Butler (LB, Washington) is selected with a 3rd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Chargers traded their 3rd round and 6th round picks in the 2010 draft and their 4th round pick in the 2011 draft to the San Francisco 49ers in order to move up and draft him.[8]
- Darrell Stuckey (S, Kansas) is selected with a 4th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
- Cam Thomas (DT, North Carolina) is selected with a 5th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Chargers trade their 5th round pick and a 2011 5th round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in order to move up and draft him.[9]
- Jonathan Crompton (QB, Tennessee) is selected with a second 5th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
